An office in the Balkans – this is a virtual office with desks throughout Southeastern Europe. Our coverage includes news and analysis on migration, ecology, social movements, and culture and minority policies. We have also extensively covered the international community’s involvement in Kosovo as well as the lives of people in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Dirk Auer
Born 1970, Auer studied political science, sociology and philosophy at Oldenburg and Bremen. He has worked as a freelance journalist in Sofia since 2006.
Simone Böcker
Born 1973, Böcker studied cultural sciences and Romance languages. She has worked as a freelance journalist in Sofia since 2006.
Stefan Tenner
Born 1977, with a graduate degree in sound engineering, Tenner is a Berlin-based freelance journalist who has travelled and worked throughout Southeastern Europe. He has produced numerous intercultural radio projects and also works as a radio trainer.
Chrissi Wilkens
Born in 1976, Wilkens studied sociology, social psychology and communications in Munich. Since 2003, she has edited for the Greek weekly “O Kosmos tou Ependiti” in Athens. Since 2008, she has been a correspondent for Eurotopics in Greece and Cyprus and has worked as a freelancer for German media outlets.
